With a background in Early Childhood Education as well as numerous years spent providing childcare, Glenda came on staff in 2001. As Childcare Coordinator, Glenda staffs, schedules and oversees the caregivers for all the different ministries needing childcare, making sure the children have a safe, clean environment. She also works with the caregivers to develop lesson plans and provide materials needed for the children's curriculum.
Glenda and her husband Don have been married for over 30 years and have two sons: Brandon, who works with troubled youth, and Justin, who recently graduated, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Cincinnati and is working as a Chemical Engineer in Louisiana. They also have two beautiful grandchildren, Lacee and Aiden. In her spare time, Glenda loves to read, garden, play Scrabble and take walks with her husband.
Why do you work at Fairhaven?
It is such a blessing providing families with a safe and nurturing environment where their children can learn about Jesus, so parents can also grow spiritually through the many programs offered at Fairhaven. It is a pleasure serving the staff, parents, children and caregivers and it is a ministry that God has called me to. Also, welcoming sweet little faces to our nursery is a great way to start the day!
Your Faith:
I accepted Jesus into my heart 18 years ago during an altar call at Fairhaven. My husband and I started attending Fairhaven after being asked to join a Community Group. The couple, who asked us, has become our dearest friends.
Life Passage:
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again; rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near." Philippians 4:4-5
"Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."
Isaiah 40:28-31
