Heidi graduated from Cedarville University in 1988 with a degree in Business Administration and went on to work at LexisNexis managing the desktop publishing and copy center. Joining the staff of Fairhaven in 2007 as Director of Common Ground Café, Heidi oversees recruiting and training volunteers, ordering supplies, coming up with promotions, as well as developing new recipes and food items.
Heidi and her husband have been married for 22 years and have been together since Heidi was 15. Together they have two boys Luke and Zach. When not brewing coffee or making espresso drinks in the café, Heidi enjoys baking, working out, reading Karen Kingsbury’s books and spending time with family and friends. And of course, she also loves going into different coffee shops whenever she travels.
Why do you work at Fairhaven?
I originally got involved with Common Ground as a volunteer when I first started going to Fairhaven. Fairhaven was such a large church I knew this would be a great way to serve and meet people. I worked as a volunteer for about a year when the opportunity became available for me to join the staff. I have absolutely loved being the director. Common Ground is a great place to meet the many people that attend Fairhaven and create an environment that promotes community and a comfortable, safe place where people can be ministered to.
Your Faith:
I grew up in a Christian home. I was fortunate enough that I asked Jesus to come into my heart when I was about 6. I have learned that if you lean on God completely He will bring a peace to your heart and guide you where He wants you to be.
Life Verse:
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7
