A 2007 graduate of Ohio University, Josh came to Fairhaven in late 2008 and puts his degree in Visual Communication to work designing various media for the church. Working here enables him to fulfill his desire to help maintain a fresh, relevant, visual representation of the Gospel in today's media-driven society.
In addition to being a designer, Josh also arranges music for a number of high school marching bands. When he's not designing or arranging, he loves following his favorite sports teams, jumping on a ride at Cedar Point or Kings Island, or spending time with his favorite person in the world: his wife Jen.
Why do you work at Fairhaven?
I can't think of a better use for the gifts God has blessed me with than serving Him and His kingdom. The first time I visited Fairhaven, it was obvious to me that God was using this church in some big ways, and I'm blessed that He's allowed me to use my passions as a part of it.
Your Faith:
My faith has been a journey from religion to relationship. For a long time, I tried to earn God's love by doing everything exactly how I was "supposed to." Later in life, I realized that God is more interested in a relationship than a performance from me, and He'll never love me any more or any less, no matter what I do.
Life Verse:
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"
"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:25-34
