“Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God.” 1 Peter 1:18 (The Msg.)
The life God gives us begins in a moment, but is experienced over a lifetime: it is a journey. Our vision is twofold: to become the people God created and called us to be as we travel our journey of faith, and to share the story of God’s redeeming love as we journey together. We want to help others find their way into vibrant faith in Jesus Christ. Those two aspects of our vision are what we’re all about at Fairhaven Church.
God calls us as a local church to support each other as we live out this vision. There are experiences, events, and groups that are in place to help you as you live the journey and share the story. Below are just a few:
Each week at Fairhaven, we offer a variety of Bible studies to prepare you for your journey of faith. You’ll find these studies on our ministry pages, including Adult Education, the men’s page, the women’s page and more.
As you travel along your journey, you need others around you to encourage and support you. We emphasize participation in Community Groups to help you find a small group of people with whom you can do life together.
Nobody likes to wander aimlessly or alone. To reach a goal, to arrive at a destination, takes commitment and support. We want to be your community of faith: church membership allows that to happen in a deeper way as we commit ourselves to each other.
Sharing the story of God’s love is the privilege of every believer. As you read the New Testament, you find that the starting place for Christ-followers in telling their story was baptism. After that, you read of the believers going everywhere sharing their faith in Jesus. That’s the model we follow at Fairhaven Church. We challenge each other to begin our “story-telling” through baptism and then to reach out to those around us; what we call, Reaching 2.
Have you been baptized as a follower of Jesus Christ? Water baptism identifies a person as a disciple of Jesus and celebrates passage from the old life into new life in Christ. Simply stated, it is an outward sign of an inward change. Baptism is an incredible opportunity to share your story with those around you.
Our life in Christ comes with a responsibility to share our story, to tell others that they matter to God. That's why one of our key values is Outreach: Calling others to Jesus. God has placed a few people in your life that are within your "reach." Click here to learn more about Reaching 2.
