At Fairhaven Church we dedicate young infants to the Lord. We find precedence for the practice of dedicating our children to the Lord and to His service in the scriptures.
Child dedication is your public declaration to commit yourself to raise your children to know Christ as their Savior and that you're committing yourself, as a parent, to provide an environment in which that can happen.
It is also a public statement of dependence on the community of God's people to come along side of the family to love, nurture, influence and help persuade the child in the things of God. The children's and youth workers will play a significant part in this. Dedicating your child publicly says we as a family need and welcome your ministry in the life of our child.
