Kids Ministry

Watch the video above to learn about checking-in and picking up your child on a Sunday morning.

We believe that learning about God should be anything but boring. That's why the elementary Children's Ministry is structured for today's kids - not little adults. We at Fairhaven are not building the "church of tomorrow." We are investing our time in the lives of kids to help them through their needs in today's world.

All ministry events are filled with games, lively songs, fun dramas, stories and videos - each centered in the Word of God. We welcome your children in our ministries.

FAQs

Checking In
How do I check in my child?

The first weekend you attend, you will fill out a form listing all pertinent information regarding your child (name, address, phone number, allergies, etc.). In addition, you will have the option of receiving a self check-in barcode card for the next time you attend. At that point, you can go to any kiosk located in the atrium and check-in your whole family.  When checking in, you will receive a name tag to be placed on your child and a claim ticket that you will need to pick up your child at the end of the service. The child's name tag will show their first and last name, age/grade, and the Family ID# which matches the number on the Parent Claim Ticket.

When can I check in my child?

You can check-in your child 15 minutes before each service or event begins.

What happens after I check in my child?

For Saturday night and Sunday 8:00 AM services: Kids will sit together with their families during the worship portion of the service. At the conclusion of the worship time, kids will be dismissed to meet at the Submarine. Our staff will meet kids as they leave the auditorium to escort them to the appropriate place.

For Sunday 9:30 and 11:15 AM services: Immediately after your kids are checked in you may send them down the submarine slide or escort them down the stairs. At that point our staff will take them to their appropriate activity room.

For Wednesday Night events: Please escort your child to their appropriate place of learning. Our staff will be available to help kids and parents know where to go.

How do I pick up my child?

We ask that you pick up your child as soon as the service ends so that we can release our team members when all of the children have been picked up. Please go to your child's graded activity room located in the lower level. To uphold our safety value, we will not release a child to anyone other than the person who holds the parent claim ticket that matches the child's name tag. Your claim ticket and your child's name tag will be matched before you will be allowed to leave the area.

What if I lose my claim ticket during the service?

Please go by the Sea Lab Desk (located in the lower level). You will be asked to show your driver's license as identification and be given a replacement claim ticket.

Safety and Security
In case of an emergency, how will you reach me during the service?

For Weekend events: For instances involving your child, we will display your child's name at the bottom of the screens in the main auditorium. Please report to the Submarine (located in the atrium) to meet one of our staff. If you will not be in the main auditorium for the service, please let someone know where you'll be so that we can easily locate you.

For Wednesday Night events: Please leave a cell phone number that we can keep in our database in case of an emergency. In addition, if you plan to stay on campus, please let one of our check-in staff know where you will be located.

Who cares for my child?

KidMix has a team of adult and teen members who have gone through a background check and reference check. They will be taking great care of your children!

Will my child be left alone with one adult?

To uphold our "safe" value, we have established a "two adult rule." There will be at least two adults present in or near the room with the kids at all times.

Is there an emergency or medical form I need to fill out for off-campus events?

Yes, please download the PDF by clicking the link below, fill it out, and return it to the children's ministry offices.

Activities
What will my child learn?

In our elementary ages (kindergarten through fifth grade), trained team leaders facilitate learning in both large and small group environments so kids will leave knowing God's truth (Bible story and key verse), why that truth is important for living today (relevance) and how to apply the truth in their own life (application).

Who do I contact for more information?

If you have any specific questions, please contact (937-434-8627 ext. 131) or (937-434-8627 ext. 148) in the church office.
