Men's Ministry

Be the man you were meant to be in every area of life! We welcome you to new friendships, opportunities to grow, and a chance to laugh with other men on the "Journey" of life. Our purpose is to see men be spiritually formed in Christ, through experiencing Fairhaven's five core purposes (Worship, Community, Equipping, Serving, and Outreach) in ways that are most effectively accomplished by being together as men.

Special Events

Apr 30 Men's Softball
April 30-July 30, 2010

Fairhaven will be fielding two teams this spring in the Southside Suburban Church Softball League. Games are played at Yankee Park, with a season running from the last Friday in April through the end of July including rain dates and tournament. Each team plays a double header every Friday evening, from 6:15-8:15 pm. One team will be designed to be generally younger guys, but nobody is considered over-the-hill! The cost per player is $30. Saturday Men's Breakfast

Saturdays at 7:15 am
Hot breakfast preceded by authentic testimonies and group prayer, followed by video discussion, "What in the World is Going On?" Cost is $2.

Men's Fraternity: The Quest for Authentic Manhood

Tuesdays, 6:00-7:30 am (Feb. 2 – March 30) or Saturdays, 8:00-9:00 am (Feb. 6 – March 27)
What makes a real man? What is it that holds men back from their true masculine destiny? How should authentic manhood express itself today? Listen to Robert Lewis by video, and discuss answers to these important questions. Workbooks are available for $17.

The Reason for God

Tuesdays, 6:00-7:30 am (Feb. 2 – March 30)
Tim Keller has been ministering to the people of New York City since founding a church in Manhattan in 1989. In the midst of a highly skeptical populace, Tim has presented a thoughtful and well-reasoned defense of Christianity that has helped remove intellectual barriers to faith for a great number of people. Join with us as we discuss Tim Keller’s book, The Reason for God, and explore the intellectual underpinnings of our faith in Christ. Book discussion will only feature the second half of the book, which stands on its own. The cost of the book is $10.

Understanding and Living Missions

Tuesdays, 6:00-7:30 am (Feb. 2 – March 30)
Discuss with an experienced career missionary the Biblical mandate for missions, the status of the church around the world, the question concerning people who have not heard the gospel, how to become a missionary, and how to live a kingdom lifestyle. Mark has spent years in Southeast Asia translating the New Testament.

Letters to Timothy

Bible study on I and II Timothy for men under age 35
Tuesdays, 6:00-7:30 am (Feb. 2 – March 30)
This study/discussion will look at Paul’s letters to Timothy, using one chapter each week to ask three questions: What does it say? What does it mean? How does it apply to my life? This is an opportunity for younger men to grapple with some of the most important issues in living for Jesus Christ.

Dare to be Uncommon

Thursdays, 7:00-8:30 pm (Feb. 11 – March 25)
Coach Tony Dungy offers more wisdom from his playbook for life. These seven sessions have video talks from Coach Dungy based on truths from the Bible.

Monday Morning Men

First Monday of the month at 9:00 am
Men offer handyman expertise to complete various facilities projects in the church building. Preceded by coffee/donuts and a short devotional. Contact , Director of Facilities, in the church office (937-434-8627 ext. 125) for more information.

Men Mentoring Men

This is an opportunity to receive one-on-one coaching in becoming a fully devoted disciple of Jesus Christ. A mature Christian man will prayerfully mentor you through a personalized and customized path of spiritual growth and formation. For more information contact .
