Your answer to "The letter to the Editor" was very well put. There will always be disenters, no matter how well intentioned a church is in trying to "Do it Better". Keep up the good work. I do think we should talk more about the everyday problems facing Christians, than we do from the pulpit. But we do like your sermens.

This response honestly reflects on what is happening right now at Fairhaven, and that is exciting. The least churched demographic is the age 18-30 (http://abcnews.go.com/sections/US/DailyNews/church_poll020301.html). The reason? They were dragged to church as kids, and never got anything out of it!
If kids are excited to go to church and come to understand the gospel message because of that excitement, that's God working through that church! Matthew 7:18 (NIV) says, "a bad tree cannot bear good fruit."

Kids for Christ today, the world for Christ tomorrow!

Thank you so much for responding to the comment made in the news about Fairhaven.
I was so upset when I read the comment, that I thought to myself, this person has never attended here or she would know what a blessing our young people are in the church and what a wonderful program is provided for them.
Fairhaven does so much for the community around it and abroad. I can never thank God enough for leading my husband and I to this church!

I (and our family) so enjoy our worship experience at Fairhaven Church. I've been associated with and apart of this ministry for approximately 40-years (since I was a kid). The weekly worship services, the Biblical teachings, the mission trip experiences, the prayer summits, the fellowship & friendships with other people, the opportunities to grow in my (our) faith ~ are awesome.

I can't think of anything more exciting! And the lifelong friendships that we have made ~ have brought amusement too. Growing closer to Christ and becoming more like Him, in fact, can be a lot of fun...and can include a lot of laughs!

Dave, keep up the great work (all in the spirit of excellence) that you and the staff are doing! It's valued and appreciated.

Excellent answer.
An apt reply...like apples of gold in settings of silver...(Prov. 25:11)
Appreciate your humbleness and welcoming response, too.

Yes, it is God's Spirit that draws man to Himself...but I like how He uses a variety of ways to do that, even Wacky World. I don't see that God told Solomon to skimp when it came to building the temple either. Use our building, Lord, in all the variety of ways You choose, for Your glory and for Your purposes.

This story is so true... lots of times adults forget that kids want to know what their parents are talking about and have many ways to find out. They also parrot many views of adults around them. Just remember that the next time you go to say something!
