Support Groups

Dayton Area Evangelical Support Group Network

Many people seek out support groups and recovery groups as they struggle with certain difficulties or challenges in their lives. Various Biblical/Evangelical churches and agencies in the Dayton area offer groups for specific life situations, addictions and other issues. Since each church or agency cannot have a group for every issue, there have been mutual referrals among existing support/recovery group leaders.

This listing is an attempt by several church representatives to provide information to pastors, counselors and potential group participants so that they will know what groups are available from a Biblical/Evangelical Christian reference point.

For a complete listing of all support groups, view the Support Group Listing (PDF).

Centerville Depression Support Group

The Centerville Depression Support Group has been established by members of Fairhaven Church and other area churches who have experienced and recovered from depression during their lives, and who want to use their experiences to help others who are currently struggling with depression, or are beginning to feel depressed. The group is open to anyone who would like to get help dealing with the blues, or more serious depression. The group especially wants to share how Christian faith can be a major factor not only in recovering from depression, but also in helping to prevent depression.

Group meetings will generally involve from five to ten people, with about half being the church members trying to help others, and half being people seeking help. The group support is supplemental to, and not a substitute for, other appropriate medical treatment. Absolute confidentiality is strictly honored.

The Depression Support Group meets weekly on Tuesdays at 7:30 pm at Fairhaven Church in Room G (007 in the lower level). For more information about the group, please contact in the church office (937-434-8627 ext. 142).
